All about An-dong

Korea has over 5000years history. An-dong walks together with Korea¡¯s history. It is because An-dong had developed not only traditional and cultural but intangible cultural properties through such a long history. In relation with Chinese culture, An-dong developed a unique culture which was mixed with Confucius, Buddhism, and folk.

This is the reason why people call An-dong a spiritual capital city of Korea. There are representative cultural properties- architectures of an ancient Korean state, the academical Confucian fountain of Choson dynasty, abundant folk assets, and architectures.

Among cultural properties, there are 5 national treasures, 2 historical vestige, and 25 important folk texts. It says An-dong has most many cultural properties in Korea. An-dong Mask Dance Festival is the number one festival of provincial festivals in Korea. (Approval of Korea government in 2009)
